01Who and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Acyera (“Acyera”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal information when you use our platform to build, host, and publish websites, and when people visit the sites published through it.
It applies to two groups. The first is builders, meaning the people who hold an Acyera account and create sites. The second is visitors, meaning the people who browse or interact with a site hosted on Acyera. Some parts of this policy speak to one group more than the other, and we say so where it matters.
02Your role and ours
For your own account and for the way the platform works, Acyera decides how and why information is handled, so we are responsible for that information.
For the content and visitor data on a site that a builder creates, the builder is the one who decides what to collect and why. In that case Acyera acts on the builder’s behalf and provides the tools, and the builder is responsible for having its own privacy notice and for meeting its own obligations to its visitors. If you are a visitor with a question about a specific site, the builder who runs that site is your first point of contact.
03Information we handle
Account information. When you create an account we handle details such as your name, email address, and authentication credentials. Sign-in is managed through Firebase Authentication.
Content you create. We store the text, images, media, page structures, layouts, templates, and site settings you build in the editor and the Sandbox. This content lives in our cloud database and storage.
Site and domain configuration. We handle the subdomains and any custom domains you connect, along with the settings that route and secure your sites.
Billing information. When you buy a paid plan, our payment partner PesaPal processes the transaction. We receive confirmation and records needed to manage your subscription, such as the plan, the status, and the amount. We do not store your full payment-card numbers on our own systems.
AI inputs. When you use an AI feature, we handle the descriptions, instructions, and page content you provide so the feature can respond. See the section on AI features below.
Visitor interactions. If a builder switches on features such as comments, reviews, contact forms, discussions, or reactions, we handle what visitors submit through them, along with basic delivery information such as counts and timestamps.
Technical and usage data. We automatically collect information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and log and diagnostic data. We use it to keep the platform secure, to fix problems, and to understand and improve how the Service performs.
Support and communications. When you contact us or use the support assistant, we handle the messages you send so we can help you.
04How we use information
We use the information above to:
- provide, maintain, and secure the platform and the sites you publish;
- create and manage your account and authenticate access to dashboards;
- process payments, manage subscriptions, and handle referral commissions;
- power the features you switch on, including AI, forms, comments, reviews, analytics, and backups;
- keep the platform safe, including preventing abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
- respond to your questions and provide support;
- understand how the Service is used so we can improve it; and
- meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
05AI features and your inputs
Acyera’s AI features let you generate a page from a description, edit a page by chatting, and get answers about the platform. To make them work, the inputs you provide are processed by us and by trusted AI providers that supply the underlying models.
- We send only what the feature needs, such as your description, instructions, or the page you are editing, and we use the result to give you the response you asked for.
- We do not use the content of your sites to train our own general models, and we ask our AI providers not to use your inputs to train theirs, to the extent their terms let us make that choice.
- Please do not paste sensitive personal information into an AI feature that you would not want processed this way, since AI output is a draft you then review and publish yourself.
08If you run a site on Acyera
When you collect information from your own visitors, for example through a contact form or a review, you are responsible for how you use it. You should tell your visitors what you collect and why, respect their choices, and follow the laws that apply to you and to them.
You must not use Acyera to gather personal information deceptively, to send unlawful messages, or to handle information in a way that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy. If a visitor asks you to access or delete their information, you are responsible for handling that request for your site.
09How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as your account is active and for as long as we need it to provide the Service. After that, we keep only what we need to meet legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution obligations, and then we delete or anonymise it.
When you delete a site, a page, or your account, the content is removed from the live Service, and it then clears from backups and caches over a reasonable period. Deletion is permanent, so export a backup first if you may want the content later.
10How we protect information
We use recognised safeguards to protect information, including server-side session verification, database security rules, encryption in transit, and access controls so that only the people and systems that need information can reach it.
No online service can promise perfect security. You play a part too, by keeping your login credentials private and by taking backups of work that matters to you. If we ever become aware of a security incident that affects you, we will act promptly and tell you where we are required to.
11Global processing and transfers
Acyera serves people around the world and relies on cloud infrastructure that may store and process information in more than one country. This means your information, and the information of your visitors, may be handled in a country different from where you live.
Wherever information is handled, we apply the protections described in this policy and require our providers to protect it as well. This policy is written to be neutral across regions, and where a local law gives you extra protection, we honour it in addition to what is written here.
12Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, we want you to have real control over your information. Depending on where you are, you may also have specific legal rights, and we extend the core of these to everyone:
- Access and correct. View and update your profile and site details directly in the dashboard.
- Export. Download a portable backup of your site content at any time.
- Delete. Delete sites, pages, or your whole account. You can also ask us to delete information we hold about you.
- Object and restrict. Ask us to stop or limit certain handling of your information, subject to the ways we still need to use it to run the Service or meet the law.
- Complain. Raise a concern with us, and, where you have the right, with your local data protection authority.
To make a request, use the tools in your dashboard or contact us. We will respond within the time the law requires, and we may need to confirm your identity first.
13Children
Acyera is not directed to children, and it is not intended for people below the minimum age at which they can agree to the handling of their own data where they live. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information without the consent the law requires, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
If you run a site that is aimed at or likely to reach children, you are responsible for meeting the extra rules that apply to that audience.
14Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform and the law evolve. When we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you through the platform or by email. Using the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
